Repeater update.......
« on: November 27, 2011, 08:13:33 PM »
As some of you know we did a major upgrade to the repeater this fall. 10 more feet of tower, a new higher gain antenna, new low loss feed line, 2 more batteries for longer life during inclement weather, and the addition of an APRS Digipeter(K6FHL-3). The changes we made to the antenna and antenna height forces us to apply for a new coordination through NARCC. The process should take about 60-90 days and if they get no complaints about our changes will be coordinated once again. Coordination is not an FCC requirement to operate our repeater but it helps us stay in accordance with the Northern California Band Plan and gives us a leg up on protecting our Frequency Pair from interference by non-coordinated repeaters.
Happy Holidays...

Google APRS, You might find it to be a very useful tool. I use it almost daily. Go to APRS.FI and search K6FHL-3 to view the Digipeter and some of the data it forwards from mobile stations throughout Northern California.
