Shasta Trinity N.F., - another rally
« on: March 31, 2010, 10:20:10 AM »
On Tuesday April 6th the Forest Service is holding two Roundtable National Planning Rule Revision sessions in Redding, one from 1 to 5PM, and the second from 6:30 to 8 PM.   The announcement is attached for your information.

It has been suggested several times that we should think about holding another rally during the break between the two sessions, at 5 PM. Due to a short time frame, we notified our largest clubs and groups, and asked for feedback on the idea. 75% of the respondents are in favor.

Same location as the first one, Shasta Trinity National Forest Headquarters, 3644 Avtech Parkway, Redding.
This is off Airport Road, North of the Redding Airport.

Our speakers will be Shasta County Supervisor Les Baugh, Shasta County Sheriff Tom Bosenko, and possibly California State Assemblyman Jim Nielsen.   Assemblyman Nielsen may be tied up in a lengthy hearing, in which case he will have one of his staff members speak in his place.

As before, we want a peaceful rally.   Please DO NOT take out your frustrations on Forest Service employees, many of them are also upset about what is happening.

This is again a low budget production, so please bring your own signs expressing your feelings regarding forest access.

Personally, I feel enough is enough, and Sharon Heywood should be replaced with someone who is willing to work with all user groups, not just the Sierra Club and The Wilderness Society.

The second session of the Roundtable is open to the public, and you are encouraged to attend. Please leave your signs in your car.

Please spread the word to your friends and clubs.

Thanks,
Bob Cole
