lol, Jenn said Bean was flashing everyone from the cruiser, I missed it.  Probably too worried about the noises my motor was making  ::)  My grandparents had a blast riding the float.

The float and the parade turned out excellent.  My jeep was loaded with kids throwing candy.  We all had a great time.  Jeremy I'll pick up the sluice box and gold pans this week sometime.  Here are a couple more pics.

I've got them inside so they don't get stolen...not that anything has been stolen from here.  Let me know what day and I can stash them somewhere.

SAR,

Nope, didn't just turn the A/C on...   left it running from last summer!  Works good too  ;-))

Escaped the need to hook up the wipers, though (I hope)

Lets wheel!

From yesterdays Paradise Post:

The judges tallied up the winners at the museum. First place trophies and second and third place ribbons were awarded to contestants in twelve categories including floats, political, novelty, antique vehicles, units in motion, commercial and equestrians. A grand prize sweepstakes award of $200 and a trophy was awarded to the best in the parade, regardless of category. The winner had to reflect the 2008 theme "Coming Up Gold!" Parade Co-Chairwoman Fran Mantonya said the winners were judged on originality, appearance and theme.

The sweepstakes winner was the First Assembly of God. The church's float represented a miner's camp complete with tent, trees, gold pans and two children roasting marshmallows over a gold nugget fire. Mantonya said this year is the largest parade and everything worked out wonderfully.

Sure they didn't misjudge the ages of the marshmallow roasters, and therefore the winners?

Guess I need to check in with who actually won.  I'm pretty sure it wasn't us because I haven't gotten a  call or anything in the mail.  I highly doubt there was an identical float......just don't see it.  There was only 62-70 entrants, even though the numbers indicated 100 more.  We were near the end and saw damn near every float that went by.

Called the museum today to clear up the typo in the Post.  We came in 2nd place for the sweepestakes.  There's a ribbon waiting at the museum!
